Olympian Sarah Wells Shares Her Tactics For Dealing With Adversity  & Unexpected Change

Sarah  Wells

Olympian & Founder

Believe Initiative Founder, Olympian Sarah Wells is no stranger to overcoming obstacles. As an Olympic semi-finalist and Pan Am Games silver medallist in the 400m hurdles, Sarah’s reputation was built through overcoming challenges and achieving the “impossible”. Sarah got her start in high school thanks to a teacher who encouraged her - much like the parents, managers, and leaders we see in our schools and organizations who are able to make an impact on those around them.

During Sarah’s pursuit to excellence, she was fortunate to achieve the pinnacle of her sport. But potentially more importantly, she had to learn to deal with heartbreaking defeat and unforeseen challenges. This equipped Sarah with the knowledge and tools on how to build and foster resilience. It has now become her mission to share that story and those tactics so she can help others overcome the obstacles they’re facing. Building on the resources and tools Sarah has built for her Believe Initiative, which has helped over 100,000+ people foster and build resilience across North America, Sarah will now take that programming online during this crazy time of COVID-19.

It is now more important than ever that we learn and band together to create strength. Sarah knows that sometimes we can feel like our circumstances have to define our outcomes, sometimes we can think the obstacles we see are so indestructible they seem like brick walls and we can’t see past them, and sometimes we don’t even see our own potential or the opportunity beyond it. But Sarah plans to change that.
